NCERT Admission 2020: Integrated Programme of Mathematics Education titled’ Master of Science Education’ (Mathematics) leading into the post-graduate Level, M.Sc.Ed.
(Math).

The application to NCERT Admission 2020 will be of six-year duration organized on the session routine with 2 semesters in one year. Each semester will consist of 16 weeks of instruction excluding examination.

Eligibility Criteria: M.Sc.

  1. Mathematics class ought to have passed on CBSE Senior Secondary examination/ Pre-University evaluation of Karnataka or an equivalent examination recognized by the University of Mysore with 45% marks in aggregate. Comfort around 5% of marks shall be given to the SC/ST candidates.
  2. Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam with these combinations of topics. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and some other subject.
  3. Admission shall be controlled via choice on the basis of marks in the qualifying exam or performance in a specially designed choice test or both. The selection test will include Multiple Choice Questions with equal weightage to both content areas of the combination of topics at the PUC/CBSE level.
  4. Admission shall be according to the widespread admission policies of NCERT. Additionally, it will be governed by the reservation policies of Govt. Of India as widespread at the time of admission.
  5. The Institutions besides RIE of Mysore, offering the Program, shall follow the entry rules of Post-Graduate Courses at the University of Mysore.

Equivalence: M.Sc.

The course contents related to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are equivalent respectively to class material in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics included in the syllabi for the same subjects in B.Sc. (Mathematics) of the University of Mysore, taken together.

The class content linked to instructional components in M.Sc.Ed. (Math ) are equal to that of B.Ed. Of the University of Mysore and additionally, contain Professional Instruction elements required for teaching Mathematics at the senior secondary level.

This level is equal to M.Sc. and B.Ed. Levels of the University of Mysore. The pupils who pass this class are considered qualified to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics in compliance with Ph.D. regulations of the University of Mysore.

Admission: M.Sc.

The duration of the class below the Lateral Entry Scheme is of four semesters. Together with the following eligibility criteria.

Candidates seeking admission into M.Sc.Ed. Beneath Lateral Entry, Scheme should have passed B.Sc. Degree with subjects Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and B.Ed. Degree with Pedagogy of Mathematics and Physical Sciences of any recognized University.

And which is equivalent to that of B.Sc.and B.Ed. Of the University of Mysore with 50% marks in aggregate in each of B.Sc. and B.Ed. Relaxation up to 5% of marks shall be supplied to the SC/ST candidates.

  • In most of the Faculties/Departments, except those offering inter-disciplinary or specialist courses, there are two modes of admission for postgraduate classes:
  1. Merit or Direct: 50% of the entire intake shall be filled by direct. The entry of the pupils of the University of Delhi only, on the basis of virtue. This mode is not available to students from different Universities.
  2. Entrance: Staying 50 percent of the seats shall be filled through an entrance examination and Interview /Group Discussion.
  • It may again be noted that all the applicants seeking admission to the postgraduate classes are required to register online.
  • Applicants can opt to use in these two manners under the following three options: (a) Merit just, (b) Entry only, or (c) Merit + Entry.
  • The chair supply for each Course under Direct and Entrance modes. Reservation/ concession to the prescribed extent shall apply individually in both the manners (Direct and Entrance) in compliance with all the principles advised by the University from time to time.
  • The Departments will launch the Entry lists in both modes, individually for many categories.
  • The Courses having Interview/Group Discussion (GD) after the Entrance test, along with their weight.

Admission (Lateral Entry): M.Sc.

The course contents related to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are equal respectively to class content in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics contained in the syllabi for the very same subjects in B.Sc. (Mathematics) of the University of Mysore, taken together.

Common Courses

Comprises of courses that are mandatory for all students. I to VIII Semesters:

  • Regional Language: Any one of the following languages – Kannada/ Hindi / Tamil / Telugu / Malayalam.
  • English.
  • Environmental Education, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education, Indian Constitution, Health and Physical Education and Theatre, Art and Heritage Craft Traditions.

IX to XII Semesters:

  • Foundations of Mathematics – I & II, Foundations of Higher Secondary Education, Teaching of Mathematics, Research in Mathematics Education and Curriculum of Higher Secondary School Mathematics.

Core Courses

Comprises of five classes at Education, two classes one in Pedagogy of Physical Sciences and yet another in Pedagogy of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from I to VIII Semesters and 16 classes in Mathematics from IX to XII Semesters.

The application also comes with a comprehensive faculty attachment application, an internship in educating at VII and XI Semesters.

Electives

Comprises of 3 courses in two and Education at Mathematics of which every student should select one in every from I to VIII Semesters and two electives in Mathematics from IX to XII Semesters.

Open Electives: Comprises of the courses viz. Communication Skills and Inclusive Education – II.
