Procedure for Admission: DU PH.D. 2020
Nominees with Masters or equivalent degree should look at a written entrance exam conducted by the University in order to be eligible for interview. The entrance test is a qualifying examination with qualifying marks as 50 percent. The shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview.
Candidates who qualify UGC-NET (such as JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (Including JRF) / DST-INSPIRE / NBHM / RJNF / GATE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship/teachers fellowship holder/teachers that are in service in Delhi University may immediately look for an interview.
Candidates holding Junior Research fellowships or equivalent research positions in projects, satisfying the minimum eligibility conditions (subject to choice from duly constituted committee according to the University norms for research jobs ) may also look right for the interview.
Scientists/professionals working in R&D institutes of the Authorities of India/State Government and with whom the University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding may directly look for interview subject to fulfilling minimum eligibility standards.
Selection Procedure: DU PH.D. 2020
As part of this interview, the candidates are needed to provide a 5 moments board presentation in a progress field of Mathematics of his/her study interest. The Ph.D. committee reserves the right not to select applicants for all vacancies advertised.
No. Of Seats:
Thirty-five chairs are offered for admission to Ph.D. programs such as reserved seats according to the University norms.
Duration of Course:
the Ph.D. program will be for a duration of three years from the date of enrollment, such as classwork and up to a maximum of six decades.
Eligibility: DU PH.D. 2020
Delhi, or some other recognized University, or some level recognized as equivalent
to Master’s/M.Phil level Mathematics. She/he must have obtained either a
minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grading in the M.Phil degree or a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grading at the Master’s degree.
The criteria for qualifying examination for each of the M.Phil and Ph.D. program is given in Annexure-VI: Eligibility conditions for admission to M.Phil. ProgrammeandAnnexure-VII: Eligibility conditions for admission to Ph.D. Programme respectively.
The following types of candidates can be provisionally registered for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics.
- Candidates having fellowships/scholarships instituted by the University/national and international agencies under schemes approved/recognized from the University.
- Candidates that are otherwise eligible for entry to the Ph.D. Program and don’t have any financial assistance will be awarded UGC (non-NET) Fellowship via an entrance examination to be conducted by the Department.
- The decision will be made on the basis of the relative values contemplating 25% of marks obtained in the Undergraduate examinations, 25 percent of marks obtained at the Master’s diploma examinations, and 50% of marks scored at the entry test. The minimum qualifying mark will likely be 60%.
- Foreign pupils with their federal or other fellowships recognized from the University or sponsored by their companies may be granted provisional admission, followed by confirmation through the due process after a specified time period.
- The University/College teachers holding a permanent, temporary or ad hoc positions and having completed two years of service as an instructor in a Department/Constituent Colleges of the University of Delhi.

Registration: DU PH.D. 2020
A Candidate for ph.d. Program in the Department of Mathematics will be registered by the Board of Research Studies (Mathematical Sciences) about the
recommendations of the Departmental Research Studies subject to the availability of a supervisor in the area of his/her interest.
Academic Work: DU PH.D. 2020
All candidates, except those who were exempted from class work by the
DRC will be asked to qualify Pre-Ph. D evaluation with three courses, picking at most two from a group recorded hereunder.

Evaluation OF Scheme: DU PH.D. 2020
The candidates will be assessed in every course out of 75 marks. The evaluation
in every course will be based on the student’s performance in a written examination and internal evaluation. duration. 25 marks in each class are assigned for internal evaluation which will be based on assignments, attendance, classroom functionality, and seminars.
- 50% of marks in each course will be asked to pass.
- Supplementary examination will be conducted for those who neglect in program work examination. Failed pupils can appear only in the supplementary examination of the identical year which will be conducted within 3 months of the statement of the end result of course work.
- No student shall be permitted to look in course work evaluation more than twice.
UNIVERSITY OF DELHI
A permanent college teacher with at least 3 decades of teaching experience and two decades of research experience after obtaining a Ph.D. degree might be considered a supervisor for directing Ph.D. students.
For recognition, the teacher ought to be active in research; he/she needs to have published at least one research paper in journals listed in SCI/MathSciNet/Scopus/any recognized DataBase out of post-Ph. D. work during the past five decades.
FUNCTIONING OF ADVISORY COMMITTEE
- Every candidate will have an Advisory Committee.
- Supervisors as convener of the Advisory Committee must ensure that a Meeting of the committee occurs at least once in a year. The Minutes of these meetings must be submitted to the Department. This will be applicable to all registered students.
- All the yearly reports of the candidates to be sent to BRS should undergo DRC to enable DRC to confirm if the encounters of these advisory committees Have happened.
